- Extended Essay (EE) - International Baccalaureate
- Internal Assessment (IA) - International Baccalaureate
See below for a summary of each.
EPQ, EE and IA
1
Extended Project Qualification
The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is an independent research project which allows students to explore a topic of personal interest in-depth, resulting in a 5,000-word report.
Students are required to define a research question, conduct independent research, and present their findings in a structured way.
The EPQ is worth UCAS points, which can contribute to university admissions.
2
Extended Essay (EE)
The Extended Essay (EE) in the International Baccalaureate (IB) is a 4,000-word independent research project that allows students to explore a topic of personal interest.
The final submission is assessed based on research quality, analysis, argumentation, and presentation.
The EE also contributes to the overall IB Diploma score, offering up to three bonus points alongside the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) essay.
3
Internal Assessment (IA)
The Internal Assessment (IA) in IB Business Management is a 2,000-word individual project that allows students to apply business concepts to a real-world situation. Students select a real company or organization to investigate, identifying a business issue or problem.
The IA is internally assessed by the teacher and externally moderated by the IB. It is a key component of the Business Management course and contributes to the overall grade.
